Acrylic Paints
Home Arts and Crafts lovers often difficult to decipher what kind of paints work best when working with wood, glass and other surfaces. The results of bad decisions can often lead to frustrations, disappointments and failures, very costly in the project on time and on budget.

Painting water-based acrylic
Acrylic paints water based, which means they are essentially water with concentrations of pigments in a given color. As the water evaporates, the pigment adheres to the surface of the painting.

First happens before the acrylic

Use the darker color of acrylic paint stand straddling the top of a darker hue, while the first hand white paint to give a slightly brighter tone.
The right kind of acrylic paint brands
There are four acrylic paint brands sold in craft stores like Michael's, Hobby Lobby and AC Moore. These brands are American, Apple Barrel, folk art, and Delta Ceramcoat. American paintings are probably the largest selection of colors and their range of reds, browns and yellows are the best in the industry. Ceramcoat has the best blues and greens, while that folk art is slightly cheaper price offers high quality, especially with its wide range finish metallic enamel paint. Apple Barrel offers various shades blue, red and earth tones that the lines do not.
Enamel paint and oil based is more robust, Tempermental
Paint enamel in oil as a main component, typical of the kind of paint used in painting and fine art model similar decisions. The enamel is more resistant that acrylic paint, which means it will not be as easy to chip or flake. However, this virtue is also its biggest flaw.
Enamel paint works best with the material and ceramic materials, especially if treated with a coating agent after finishing sealant paint. Enamel paint is used in the plastic sometimes never completely dry, yet sticky to the touch long after project completion.

Waterproofing Acrylic paints
Amateurs recommend using a fixative or sealant to protect acrylic paints. The most popular brands, Testor's Dull-Cote, gives a matte finish and can be found in the section of the model, near (ironically) enamel paints.
