What techniques do I use for watercolor and charcoal?

Hi. I have been experimenting with watercolor and charcoal together, but I am not sure what the best techniques for this would be. For example, do I put the charcoal down first and then add watercolor on top? Should I draw charcoal onto wet watercolor? etc...
Any advice?
Thanks!
